About

Andy Cormier is a creator, musician, and marketer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has returned to his alma mater San Jose State University to pursue an MBA. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at SJSU, graduating in 2020 Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Marketing plus department honors as well as with minors in Japanese and Music. He enjoys reading, hiking, running, and spending time with his four cats (previously five), and he speaks Spanish, Japanese, and elementary Norwegian with more languages on his list to learn.

As a creator, he makes videos on YouTube to educate his viewers about ocarinas, topics important to him, and other personal interests such as tech, brand deals, and books. His channel is steadily growing every day with a healthy audience. Additionally, he shares videos on TikTok and is fairly active on Instagram and LinkedIn if you’d like to connect with him!

As a musician, he is an accomplished ocarinist and singer, having played the ocarina since 2011 (with his ensemble Ocabanda since 2017) and sung in choirs since 2013. Some of his musical accolades include performing in the choir for Andrea Bocelli in 2016, the choir for Joe Hisaishi in 2018, mainstage at MAGfest with Ocabanda in 2019, and headlining OcarinaFest 2023 with Ocabanda. He brings this musical expertise via digestible advise and recommendations in his videos.

As a marketer, Andy has contributed to numerous organizations, but his longest and most recent work experience is with AVerMedia, managing their social media, invigorating their influencer partnership and brand deal programs, and becoming a product expert to market their audio and video tech. Other work experience includes working with MakeUseOf.com (currently as a writer, reviewer, and video team manager), helping manage a study abroad program in Kyoto, marketing DIY mushroom growth kits, and growing social media for a B2B IT as a service company. Last, he is seeking opportunities in social media, influencer relations, content marketing, and product marketing, as well as finance-related roles.
